Day by day

Day 1 · Umiam Lake, Shillong

Guwahati Arrival – Kamakhya Temple – Umiam Lake

Arrive at Guwahati Airport and meet your driver for a scenic journey towards Meghalaya. En route, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, an important pilgrimage destination in Assam. Continue to Umiam Lake, a picturesque reservoir surrounded by green hills. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings before checking in to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 2 · Cherrapunjee

Umiam Lake – Cherrapunjee Sightseeing

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee, one of Meghalaya’s most famous destinations for dramatic landscapes and waterfalls. Visit Elephant Falls, Garden of Caves, Nohkalikai Falls, Wei Sawdong Falls and Mawsmai Cave, subject to available time and local conditions. Admire the lush valleys, limestone formations and spectacular natural scenery before checking in to your hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 3 · Cherrapunjee

Seven Sisters Falls & Double Decker Living Root Bridge

After breakfast, visit Seven Sisters Falls and explore the natural beauty of the Cherrapunjee region. Later, embark on a trek to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat, an extraordinary example of traditional Khasi bioengineering. Enjoy the forest trails and surrounding greenery before returning to your accommodation for a relaxing evening. Travel tip: The Nongriat trek involves a substantial number of steps and requires good physical fitness. Allow sufficient time for the return journey.

Day 4 · Mawlynnong area

Krang Suri Falls – Dawki – Mawlynnong

After breakfast, drive towards Krang Suri Falls and admire its beautiful turquoise waters and surrounding greenery. Continue to Dawki, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the clear waters of the Umngot River, subject to weather and river conditions. Later, visit Mawlynnong, a picturesque village known for its cleanliness and sustainable community practices. Explore the nearby Single Decker Living Root Bridge before settling in for an overnight stay.

Day 5 · Shillong

Sacred Forest – Laitlum Canyon – Shillong

After breakfast, explore a sacred forest in the Mawphlang area, if that is the forest intended in your original itinerary. Discover its rich biodiversity and the cultural traditions associated with Khasi sacred groves. Continue to Laitlum Canyon for panoramic views of deep valleys and rolling green hills. Later, drive to Shillong and enjoy city sightseeing, with time to explore local attractions depending on your arrival time.

Day 6 · Departure

Shillong – Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Depending on your departure arrangements, enjoy some free time in Shillong or transfer to Guwahati Airport for your onward journey. Depart with wonderful memories of Meghalaya’s waterfalls, forests, villages and mountain landscapes.
